The Illusion of Separation

I was watching a video by Nicole of Twin Flame Revolution today, and she said something that hit me: we lie to ourselves when we say we are separate from each other.  I had to sit with that for a moment.

I started by considering the science behind our physical world: what does it mean to be "separate" at an atomic or molecular level?  So I began by considering the different forms of matter, such as solids, liquids, and gases.  I reflected on the fact that atoms are mostly space, and so even things that look solid, or opaque, are actually mostly space.  So why don't we pass through things?  Because, while we get close enough for our nerve endings and senses to be affected, at an atomic level there are forces which repel the atoms/molecules away from each other  At an atomic level, we never REALLY touch, because there's energy there.

I started to consider the air that exists around everything I could see.  Air is less dense than solids or liquids, so the atoms or molecules exist apart from one another.  But are they truly separate?  What keeps them afloat and apart from one another?  Why don't they just get pulled down to the Earth?  Because they have counteracting energies and energies between them keeping them apart.

So far, whether you get really close or really far, there is always energy between the two physical things.

I considered the macro level of our solar system and outer space, where everything is suspended in a vacuum.  Except there are forces which keep the planets in motion and in orbit, specifically the gravitational force of the Sun, when speaking about our solar system.  And if we consider astrology, it is based upon the notion of the forces of the planets in our solar system upon our Earth, and how that affects our day-to-day lives.  So even in a vacuum, there is energy.

And finally I had to consider the law of the conservation of matter and energy: that they can never truly be destroyed, only converted from one form to another.  But energy permeates all things.

I had to conclude that even when matter appears separate, there is ALWAYS energy connecting us.  I had just used science to explain a concept in spirituality to myself.  This is why I tell people that science and spirituality are NOT mutually exclusive, and that science actually validates my spiritual beliefs.

There truly is no such thing as separation.  We are all connected.  Always.  No matter how far apart we might seem to be, physically.
